Now

This page keeps track of what is being worked on. This is a way to let people know what is coming up, what the priorities are, and acts as a todo list.

High Priority

Primary focus is on improving the lyric system analysis and rhyme coloring algorithms. The current analysis tools are being enhanced for better accuracy and more comprehensive feedback. Recipes continues to receive attention with oscillator improvements and new effects, while Starts development progresses with scale modulation features.

Upcoming for Starts

Scale Modulation

Musical elements like solos often benefit from scale changes that create tension and interest. By specifying a different scale on the lead, for example, you could add that extra level of harmonic interest.

Mobile Support

I'm working to make Starts fully functional for mobile devices. Your feedback on this feature's priority would be valuable to the planning, because I don't know if mobile DAWs can easily use midi.

Upcoming for Recipes

Better Oscillators

Enhancing existing oscillators with improved algorithms and adding new waveform types. Better modulation capabilities and more stable performance across all frequency ranges.

New Effects

Expanding the effects library with creative new processors. Focus on unique sound shaping tools that inspire new directions in your music production workflow.

Better Random Patch Generation

Smarter randomization algorithms that create more musical and usable patches. Better parameter relationships and genre-aware generation for more inspiring results.

Quality of Life Additions

Small but impactful improvements to workflow and user experience. Better preset management, improved UI responsiveness, and streamlined creative processes.

Upcoming for Lyrics

Rhyme Color Improvements

Enhanced rhyme detection algorithms with better accuracy for near-rhymes, internal rhymes, and complex rhyme schemes. Improved visual feedback and color coding systems.

Analysis Upgrades

More comprehensive lyrical analysis including advanced metrics for flow, rhythm patterns, emotional arc tracking, and deeper linguistic analysis for better songwriting insights.

More Useful Tools

Additional songwriting aids including syllable counters, meter analysis, word suggestion systems, and collaborative features to streamline the creative lyric writing process.

Long-Term

This project has been tremendously rewarding to build, and I keep getting more ideas. As more features are added, and I figure out what would actually be useful to musicians, I welcome your ideas and feedback to help shape this project.

The following concepts are in early exploratory phases. While they won't materialize immediately, they are exciting ideas I'm considering for the future of Produc.ing.

1

@ page

"produc.ing" is a cool domain name and I should take advantage of that. Giving musicians the produc.ing/@yourusername page could be fun. Whether that page would function like a link tree to direct fans to, or as a "CV" for production, I don't know. Send ideas if you have any.

2

Album Planning

Writing a good song is one thing, writing a good album is another. If you've ever analyzed a whole album that you love, and kept track of all the things which connected all the songs together, you'll know how intricate and complex that can be. I want to build a tool that helps you plan an album, and keep track of all the things that make it a cohesive piece of art.

3

Music Theory Based Analysis

Advanced analysis tools that understand music theory concepts could provide deeper insights into harmonic progressions, modal relationships, and compositional structures. This could bridge the gap between creative intuition and theoretical knowledge.

4

VSTs

Exploring possibilities for deeper integration with existing music production tools. While complex and dependent on many factors, the potential for connecting with your existing workflow could be interesting to explore - though no promises here!
