Description & Features

VIVISECT is a cutting-edge waveshaping plugin that transforms audio through sophisticated mathematical distortion algorithms. Built with a powerful dual-processor architecture, it offers unprecedented creative control over your sound with over 89 unique waveshaping types ranging from classic analog-modeled distortion to experimental quantum-inspired effects.

The plugin features two independent waveshapers (A & B) that can be combined in five different chain processing modes, allowing for complex multi-stage processing or parallel effects. Real-time morphing capabilities let you smoothly blend between different processing characteristics, while advanced features like oversampling, anti-aliasing, and dynamics preservation ensure professional-quality results.

Whether you're looking for subtle tube-like warmth, aggressive digital destruction, or completely otherworldly sound design, VIVISECT provides the tools to push your audio in exciting new directions. The modern web-based interface makes it easy to explore and control every aspect of the processing.

Main Controls

Drive: Controls intensity of waveshaping effect (0-100%)
Bias: Adds DC offset for asymmetric distortion (-50% to +50%)
Type: Selects from 89+ waveshaping algorithms
Symmetry: Algorithm-specific parameter control
Input/Output Gain: Level adjustment (-24dB to +24dB)
Mix: Dry/wet blend control (0-100%)
Morph: Blends between waveshapers A and B

Chain Types

Parallel: Both waveshapers process simultaneously with crossfade
Serial: Waveshaper A feeds into B for multi-stage processing
Frequency Split: Low frequencies to one, highs to other (80Hz-8kHz)
Left-Right: Separate processing for stereo channels
Mid-Side: Center vs stereo width processing (My favorite)

Advanced Settings

Oversampling: 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x options
DC Filter: Removes unwanted DC offset buildup
Limiter: Safety limiting from -12dB to 0dB threshold
Dynamics: Preserves original signal dynamics (0-100%)

Waveshaper Types

Classic Distortion: Hard/Soft Clipping, Cubic, Arctangent, Tanh
Analog Modeling: Vacuum Tube, Transistor, Op-Amp, Diode, Tape Saturation
Digital/Bitcrushing: Bit Crusher, Sample Rate Reduction, Digital Clipping
Experimental: Wave Folding, Ring Modulation, Chaos, Fractal, DNA Helix, Quantum Tunneling
Harmonic Enhancement: Harmonic Enhancer, Phantom Fundamental, Shepard Tone, Formant Shaper
And more!

Creative Techniques

Subtle Enhancement: Low drive (10-30%) with soft clipping types
Extreme Sound Design: High drive (70-100%+) with experimental algorithms
Stereo Effects: Left-Right or Mid-Side modes with different A/B types
Dynamic Processing: Use dynamics control with frequency split for bass/treble separation
Parallel Compression: Lower mix values for dynamic enhancement effects

Usage Tips

Use moderate drive values initially - high settings can be extreme
Manage signal levels with Input/Output gain controls
Enable at least 2x oversampling for clean results
Experiment with different chain types for unique effects
Use Dynamics control to maintain punch in heavy processing
